What is the cost of brickwork and block work Demolition and Dismantling?
In
this article, we explain about rate analysis and cost of demolition brickwork
or block work in cement mortar and including stacking of materials as directed
by the Engineer-in-charge and Dismantling doors or windows.
BRICKWORK DEMOLITION
Brick
and blocks are used as building materials used for interior and exterior walls of
the home construction.
Knowledge
of basic construction techniques and experience with breaker machines is useful
when demolishing the brick and block wall typically found around a home.
It
is necessary to use the proper tools and most of all to exercise patience and
care when demolishing the wall to avoid injury.
Things to look at before starting demolition
work
1.
Keep the trashcan as close as possible to the demolition site so that
individual bricks can be thrown into it when broken.
2.
Install the scaffolding against the brick wall according to the manufacturer's
instructions.
3. Use
tarps to cover the floor to avoid scratches and damages
4.
Arrange the hammer drill with a small wedge-tip bit and set it to vibrate.
Start at the top of the wall in the first course of bricks. Place the bit under
the brick where it will connect with the mortar and move along the seam under
the brick until it separates from the brick wall. Throw the brick into the
dumpster.
5. Finish the top course of
the bricks in the same manner, brick by brick. Go to the first brick of the
second course and proceed to remove the bricks one at a time.

How do you calculate rate analysis for
brickwork demolition?
1. Machine rent
A. breaker machine = 1set x 2
days x 700 = 1400
2. Labour rate Calculation
(i) Mason 1st Class = 2 day x 1nos
x 1000 = 2000₹
(ii) Stonecutter = 2 day x 2
nos x 1200 = 4800 ₹
(iii) Helper= 4 day x 1nos x
850 = 3400₹
Scaffolding LS = 100sqft x 20/sqft
= 2000₹
Transport (upto 10km)= 1 load x 3500 = 3500₹
Total cost = 17100
Add 1% water charge on total =
171
Add 15% Contractor Profit and
Overhead Charges Total = 2565
Total cost = 19836 – 20000rs
